50th Anniversary of the First Moon Landing

Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first two people on the Moon.  Commander Neil Armstrong and Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin, both American, landed the lunar module Eagle on July 20, 1969.

With over a quarter of the world’s population watching on television, Neil Armstrong left the module and became the first man to walk on the moon.  The words he spoke when he stepped onto the lunar surface have become legendary.

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”
